PILOT INFORMATION
パイロット インフォ
Nephilim pilots must be specially chosen due to the delicate nature of the synchronization process. They must, unfortunately, be somebody who experienced the death of somebody relatively close to them at some point in their history. The soul of this person must be mounted into the D6 Drive in a Nephilim, and then the pilot that was associated with the mounted soul must be the one to pilot the robot. For this reason, replacement pilots are very difficult to come by, and once a soul is mounted, the military, or the ADAM or EVE corporation will be down the pilot's neck until they comply to operate the Nephilim.
EVE is based out of America, and is one of the main developers of the Nephilim units. They work closely with the American, British, and Israeli governments to help the military repel the menacing mechanical-like demon units that have been invading Earth over the course of the past three years and generally handle the subject manner.
EVE was originally a sister company to ADAM, a similar company based out of Japan that were the group that manufactured the first Nephilim unit. While they sometimes disagree with EVE, they work alongside them as their end goals of protecting humanity are one of the same. ADAM works closely with the Japanese and German military, and has been trying to branch into the Russian government, but with little success.
These are the main two companies that draft pilots. Other countries have thus far been unsuccessful in recreating Nephilim units, and therefore must call on one of these companies to assist them when they need the firepower of one of the units. The main factor that determines which company a pilot works for is their nationality, though there are a few exceptions of an American pilot being drafted into ADAM and vice versa.
The existence of the ADAM and EVE organizations are relatively unknown to the public, both functioning on the same level as a top-secret military sector.

A pilot "levels up" by being active and posting. This is represented by a raise of skill, and with each "level," the pilot will have more control over their Nephilim. They are also treated more highly in-character by NPCs and other characters with each level. Ace Pilots are world famous, to the point where most characters will know of them.
■ Rookie: Beginner level. Can control their Nephilim for 5 posts when it is unplugged from the Umbilical Wire.
■ Adept: 25 posts. Can control their Nephilim for 8 posts when it is unplugged from the Umbilical Wire.
■ Elite: 50 posts. Can control their Nephilim for 12 posts when it is unplugged from the Umbilical Wire.
■ Expert: 75 posts. Can control their Nephilim for 16 posts when it is unplugged from the Umbilical Wire.
■ Ace: 100 posts. Can control their Nephilim for 20 posts when it is unplugged from the Umbilical Wire.
NON-PILOTS
The military and the ADAM and EVE companies still employ the use of people who are not pilots. In fact, many of the hierarchy are non-pilots. Some of these people include mechanics, scientists, inventors, medics, soldiers, politicians, and just everyday people trying to live in a world under near-constant attack.
